Trust me with our future speech

WALT: To write a persuasive speech
Trust me with our future

Trust me with our future! Today I am going to tell you about animals, our sustainable future and global warming so make yourself comfortable.

Already, because I care about our wild animals. I think that all animals should have rights because it is unfair that animals have to be in captivity. All the animals in the zoo want to be in the wild. Look at those ugly face pressed against the zoo glass windows gasping, pointing and snotting all over the place. Aren't they disgusting?!?! I feel that all people should work together for peace between animals and humans. What do you think?

My second reason why you can trust me with our future is because our sustainable future. Is it going to be sustainable for humans and animals to be in peace and harmony. well what do you think? Plastic has been a problem seance 1907 when a guy called leo invented it. He wanted to make the world a ‘’ better place’’ he just made it worse but don’t hate him for making plastic he didn’t know any better. Un-biodegradable Plastic that disgusting thing. Why would Mr Leo make something so bad you ask, well he had a problem in his world there was not a strong enough paper to hold things such as paper bags to hold shopping and make book covers. Un-biodegradable Plastic in my eyes is a bad thing. What do you think about my opinion?

My third reason is, Global warming is harming the planet. The amur leopard is a endangered species because there habitat has been cut down by us humans. This is not very good for the amur leopard there population is declining because of, us humans. This problem is going to get bigger until there's no more. The world as we know it, this beautiful planet, will be gone. We need to change for the better of our earth. Carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas one of four and if these greenhouse gasses are helping us by trapping the heat of the sun.

I have told you how you can help make the world a better place. By banning animal captivity they all need to be in the natural habitat. We can also help by using renewable resources. We can all help by doing these things. I hope I have changed your perspective on these points and you believe that the best project you can work on is me and my generation by educating us to do the right thing for our environment. So trust me, trust me with our future Thank you, good bye.

Brown Kiwi Writing

WALT: Do a pearsuasive writing piece about a New Zealand native bird

Did you know the brown kiwi is native to New Zealand? If not, let me tell you about the extraordinary brown kiwi. Hold on to your hats, this is going to be the ride of your lifetime.

Firstly, let me tell you about their population. In the year 2008 there were about 25,000 brown kiwi, now there is about 18,000 brown kiwi in 2018. Their population is declining around 3% per year. Even though the brown kiwi is decreasing by 750 per year people are trying to help.

Secondly,I'm going to tell you the brown kiwis habitat. They tend to live in subalpine areas in New Zealand and they also live on protected islands of the coast of New Zealand such as Aroha Island, in Northland. They do not like being in the open that's why there often found in the bush. Wherever the brown kiwi goes, it needs shelter.

Finally, I'm going to tell you about how the brown kiwi look and their behaviours. These flightless birds act more like mammals than birds because they have gotten used to being isolated and the brown kiwi can not fly so it’s more vulnerable to predators such as stoats, possums and ferrets. They are nocturnal which means that they sleep through the day and stay up at night. The brown kiwis eyes are small so they can’t see well so there smell makes up for their loss in eyesight, there nostrils are at the end of there beak so when they dig for small grubs they smell. Their feathers are fur-like and there beak is long but did you know that birds beaks are measured from their nostrils and the kiwis nostrils are at the front of their beak that's why they have the smallest beak of any bird. After a while the brown

beak grows bigger. There wings are so small they can’t fly because there bodys are so big and fat (don’t judge them its not there fault). Can the guess what colour the brown kiwi is? If you said brown you’re correct.

Conclusion
I hope you have learnt a lot about the brown kiwis habitat, appearance and population, I think that the brown kiwi is very important to New Zealand. What do you think?
